Rep. Mannion Encouraging Students to Enter Congressional Art Competition

High School students in New York’s 22nd Congressional District can now enter the annual Congressional Art Competition.

Congressman John Mannion is encouraging students in grades 9-12 in his district to enter. NY-22 includes all of Madison and Onondaga Counties, along with parts of Cayuga, Cortland, and Oneida Counties. The southern half of Cayuga County is in the 22nd district.

Paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media, computer-generated art, and photography can all be submitted. Artwork can be up to 26″x26″x4″ and cannot weigh more than 15 pounds.

The winning artwork from NY-22 will join hundreds of other works from students across the country and hang in the US Captiol for one year.

While not required, as 2026 marks the US’ 250th anniversary, Celebrating 250 Years of America is being offered as a suggested theme.

More information on the competition, including how to submit, can be found on Mannion’s congressional website.
