An upcoming public hearing in Sennett will let residents voice their opinion on a proposal to regulate solar projects in the town.

The proposed law would allow the town “to permit and regulate the construction of solar energy systems in the Town of Sennett in a manner that preserves the health, safety, and welfare of the Town, while also facilitating the production of renewable energy.”

The proposed legislation comes as a six-month moratorium on solar projects enacted by the town in November is set to expire soon.

The public hearing will take place at 6:30p on Thursday at Sennett Town Hall at 6931 Cherry Street Rd, Auburn, NY.

A second public hearing at the meeting will address proposed changes to the town’s lodging laws.
