The Cayuga County Probation Officer arrested on October 3 for allegedly abusing his power has been suspended with pay.
Legislature Chairman David Gould told the Citizen that the suspension is in keeping with county policy, pending an investigation by the District Attorney’s Office.
Nicholas Flanigan was arrested for allegedly abusing his authority over those on probation for personal benefits, including monetary gain as well as having had inappropriate conversations with them.
The 34-year-old Auburn man faces felony counts of falsifying Business Records, Offering a False Instrument for Filing, and Official Misconduct.
