The Moravia Judge who was under investigation for stealing court funds has resigned.

June Shepardson was suspended in July from her role as justice for the Town and Village of Moravia. She was accused of taking over $6,000 in court funds and was under investigation by the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct.

Shepardson resigned on September 1 and agreed neither to seek nor accept a judicial office in the future.

She was most recently reelected to the position in 2021 with her term set to expire in 2025.
