Malfunctioning Furnace Brings Firefighters to Home in Owasco

Fire crews responded early Monday morning after smoke was reported inside a home in Owasco.

According to the Owasco Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched around 6:15 a.m. Mutual aid was requested from the Aurelius, Fleming, and Sennett fire departments and Auburn City Ambulance.

Crews located the source of the smoke and determined it was caused by a problem with the home’s furnace. The issue was addressed, and units cleared the scene in about 45 minutes.
