The woman hoping to be Cayuga County’s next clerk has received the support of the union representing county employees.

The Civil Service Employee Association (CSEA) Central Region 5 has backed Kristine Lytle to fill the role when Sue Dwyer retires at the end of the year. In its decision, the union said it acknowledges her interest in the issues affecting workers and her commitment to addressing their needs.

Lytle has worked at the DMV for 16 years and currently is part of the department’s supervisory team.

She is running on the Conservative and Experience Matters lines in a three-way race against Democrat-backed Brian Scanlan and Republican Chris Petrus in the November election.
