Four Cayuga County Sheriff’s Members Receive Special Recognition

Tuesday was a special day for the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office. Four of its members were recognized for outstanding service and promotion within the agency.

Deputy Michael Westover received an award for providing life-saving first aid to an inmate at the county jail. Deputy Brendan Raftis was recognized with a letter of commendation for being a leader in traffic enforcement, arrests, and civil process service in 2023. Also receiving a letter of commendation for leading the department’s patrol division in DWI arrests in 2023 was Deputy Christian Ryan.  Corporal Durell Jones was recognized for his recent promotion within the Custody Division.
