A Rochester man has pled guilty to assaulting three corrections officers last year at the Auburn Correctional Facility.

According to the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office, 32-year-old Dejour Nesmith admitted to injuring the officers on August 10, 2022, in the prison’s north mess hall, in an attempt to prevent them from carrying out their duties. 34-year-old Windsor Coleman of Massapequa was also charged with assaulting an additional two officers during the incident.

Coleman was arraigned last month but Nesmith refused to leave his cell, causing a delay.

After pleading guilty to three felony counts of Attempted Assault, Nesmith faces an aggregate three-and-a-half to seven-year indeterminate sentence to run consecutively to his current 23-year determinate sentence.
