There were 11 suspected overdoses last month in Cayuga County, including one fatal, according to data from the county’s overdose dashboard.
This represents a slight decrease from January’s 12 overdoses; however, January saw no fatalities. February 2023 saw 12 suspected overdoses, two of which were fatal.
18% of February 2024’s overdoses are believed to have involved opioids with Narcan being administered in just under half the cases. Geographically, 73% occurred in the Auburn area.
