Cayuga County’s Emergency Services Department is hoping for the return of training equipment missing from the county’s Fire Tower.

Officials with the department told Finger Lakes News Radio that two stream lights and an OFPC gear pack have turned up missing. These items are essential for training for fire departments across the county. Replacement of these items has taken away from other budgeted expenses.

Emergency Services adds that incidents of vandalism have occurred in recent weeks at the Quarry Road site in Auburn, including trailers having been broken into. As a result, the sheriff’s office will increase patrols of the area.

If you have the items, you’re advised to return them to either the Department of Emergency Services at 160 Genesee Street or the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office at 7445 County House Road.

Anyone with information on the missing items is asked to contact Emergency Services at 315-255-1161.
