The Cayuga County Office Building, which has been closed since late May, will remain that way at least for the next two years following a decision by the county Legislature.

County departments will be relocated to the former Lyons National Bank Building at 63 Genesee Street in Auburn, with the county leasing the space for $29,000 per month. The move is expected to cost over $1 million.

The office building was first damaged by storms in January and again in May, with asbestos being discovered during repairs following heavy rains.
