After 30 years on the job, Cayuga County’s environmental health director is retiring.

Eileen O’Connor will retire from the Health Department this month.

According to The Citizen, O’Connor was presented with a proclamation from State Senator Rachel May’s office at the Board of Health’s meeting last month. The proclamation recognized her years of service and dedication to protecting the county’s drinking water.

O’Connor has headed the environmental services division since 1993.
