The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office is warning of counterfeit drugs being sold online.

According to the office, unlicensed and illegal pharmacies are selling counterfeit pills across the nation. These pills could contain dangerous drugs such as fentanyl or methamphetamine. These pharmacies may not require a prescription for medication and/or offer large discounts on medication.

The office is urging those using online pharmacies to make sure they’re licensed by the FDA before buying products from them. A list of pharmacies licensed in New York can be found here.
