The Cayuga County Legislature has passed its $188 million budget.
The 2024 budget was passed at Thursday’s county legislature meeting following weeks of discussion. The $188 million figure represents a roughly 8% increase over 2023’s $172 million budget.
When this year’s preliminary budget was unveiled in November, Budget Director Lynn Marinelli cited increases in Medicaid costs, salaries, and health insurance premiums as necessitating the increased spending.
