The City of Auburn is debuting a new children’s camp this summer with the goal of teaching kids about the environment.
Beginning with a program at BOCES, the Conservation Corps Summer Camp will give 10 campers the chance to discover agriculture, watershed management, forestry, and more.
Activities for campers include:
- Field Work Activities
- Tree Planting and Care
- Measure and Assess Tree Canopy
- Identify and Manage Invasive Plants
- Trail Construction and Maintenance
- Stream Monitoring and Restoration
The camp is open to 11-13 year olds within the nine component Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES school districts. The program will run July 17-20 from 9:30a-2:30p.
For its inaugural year, only 10 campers will be accepted.
