Auburn Firefighters Respond to Memorial Day House Fire

Auburn firefighters battled a house fire Monday morning.

Crews responded to the report of a house fire on Dayton Street at approximately 5:17a. Upon arrival, they found smoke coming from the eaves of the house.

Once they gained access, fire was found throughout the building, and the fire was able to be contained within an hour.

No one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported. The Red Cross is assisting the homeowner.

The fire’s cause remains under investigation.

Auburn City Ambulance, the Auburn Police Department, Code Enforcement, and NYSEG also assisted at the scene.
