Auburn Police and Cayuga County agencies will be getting a piece of the 36.2-million dollars the state is giving to various law enforcement agencies to combat violent crime.
Governor Hochul made the announcement Tuesday that the funding will go to agencies participating in the New York’s Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) Initiative.
Auburn and Cayuga County will share 370,655 dollars for personnel, overtime, equipment, and technology for the Auburn Police Department and the county district attorneys’ office, probation department, and sheriffs’ office.
The GIVE Grant Cycle runs from July 1, 2023- June 30, 2024.
