Auburn Awards APD, Nick’s Ride Funds from Opioid Settlement

The Auburn Police Department and local nonprofit Nick’s Ride 4 Friends are receiving a financial boost from the city.

The City of Auburn has received $31,702 as part of Opioid Settlement Fund Regional Abatment monies for its role in class action litigation against opioid manufacturers. The New York State Office of Addiciton Services and Supports (OASAS) has advised that funds be redistributed to local groups addressing harms associated with substance abuse.

City Council voted Thursday to split the funds between the police department and Nick’s Ride.
