Activist and author Angela Davis will be the guest speaker at a community-wide celebration of Juneteenth hosted by the Seward House in Auburn.

The museum announced yesterday that Davis will speak on June 15th, in the auditorium of Auburn Junior High School. She has been inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame and in 2020 was included in Time’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

The event will be funded in part by the New York State Equal Rights Heritage Center and the city of Auburn’s Historic & Cultural Sites Commission as part of a month-long Juneteenth celebration.
