Progress is being made on determining how to spend the $10 million three Cayuga County villages have won for their Downtown Revitalization Initiative.

The third Local Planning Committee (LPC) meeting for the Cayuga, Union Springs, and Aurora joint DRI will be held on Monday. The committee will receive an overview of projects that were submitted by the June 28 due date in hopes of getting a share of the funding to help revitalize the three villages’ downtowns.

The meeting will take place from 4:00-6:00p at the Union Springs Fire Hall and is open to the public. For those who cannot attend the meeting in person, it can be attended virtually via Zoom.

Anyone with questions can email DRI Project Manager Emma Phillips at [email protected].

Under the DRI grant program, the LPC is tasked with selecting a slate of projects to form a Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) The SIP will be sent to the state in December where officials will review it and choose which projects will receive DRI funding, something expected to happen by spring 2025.
