Three Special Patrol Officers from the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office have received a letter of recognition for their handling of an incident last month at the County Office Building.
According to the sheriff’s office, an agitated individual who appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance and having a mental health crisis was at the offices on February 9th while carrying two knives.
Officers Jamie Blackman, Rick Morris, and Leon Humphrey were able to restrain the individual and secure the weapons.
Sheriff Brian Schenck recognized the three for their actions which resulted in no one being injured during the incident.
