ANNUAL SEMINAR PLANNED FOR BOARD OF EDUCATION CANDIDATES
If you have ever thought about running for your local school board of education, do not miss the
“Virtual Seminar for Prospective School Board Members” via Zoom on Saturday, March 7,
2026, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am sponsored by the Four County School Boards Association.
This program will present information about the duties and responsibilities of school board
members, their role in planning the education of the State’s youth, and the process to follow to
become a candidate for a board of education seat.
This year, all school board members will be elected on May 19th. Candidates for boards of
education must file their nominating petitions at least 30 days prior to the election (20 days for
small cities).
A school board candidate must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, able to read and write, a
district resident for one year prior to election, and not employed by the school district or related
to a current member of the board of education.
There is NO CHARGE for this seminar. Registration is required to receive a Zoom meeting link
and can be done through the Four County School Boards Association: Online:
